Fieberbrunn is in the Tirol (Tyrol) region of Austria and lies in a West - East valley just south of Pillersee. It is part of the “PillerseeTal” region together with Hochfilzen, St. Jakob in Haus, St. Ulrich am Pillersee and Waidring.  The towns of St. Johann and Kitzbühel are to the West, with Saalfelden to the east. The main road (164) passes to the north of the village so traffic through the village is low.

Walking / Hiking in the Fieberbrunn Area

There are valley walks to the west to Kitzbühel or east to Saalfelden. To the south of Fieberbrunn there are some good walks to the lake of Wildsee and the Wildseeloderhaus. Longer walks are south east to Saalbach, or south then west to Kitzbühel.

North of Fieberbrunn there are walks along the Pillersee valley past St. Jakob in Haus and St. Ulrich am Pillersee to Waidring.  

The Tourist Office may offer free led walks.Mayr map 461 is a suitable map.

Skiing in the Fieberbrunn Area

There are 3 areas near Fieberbrunn - (Fieberbrunn / Streuböden, Pillersee / Buchensteinwand, Waidring / Steinplatte).  Fieberbrunn is part of the Skiregion Schneewinkel and the Kitzbüheler Alpen Ski Region so the skiing area covers a large area.

Airports (Flughafen)

The nearest airport to Fieberbrunn is Salzburg.

(There is a small airport at St. Johann for private planes).

Rail Stations (Bahnhof)

There is a station just outside Fieberbrunn. The nearest main train stations are St. Johann 15 km to the West, and  Sallfelden 20 km to the East.

Buses

There are two main bus routes:

Cable Cars - Chair Lifts

The main lift in Fieberbrunn is the Streuböden cable car. It is south east of the village and goes up to Wildseeloder. There are two other lifts in the Pillersee region:

The PillerseeTal Card is available covering all three lifts and local buses as well as other attractions like swimming pools.

The Kitzbüheler Alpen Sommer Card covers most resorts in the Kitzbüheler Alps region (29 lifts), buses east of Wörgl and other attractions.
