Reith im Alpbachtal is in the Tirol (Tyrol) region of Austria and lies at the beginning of the Alpbach valley (Alpbachtal). Reith im Alpbachtal is part of the Alpbachtal & Tiroler Seenland in the Kitzbüheler Alpen, north east of Innsbruck and to the east of the Zillertal and Mayrhofen. There are several villages along the valley. At the north end of the valley, where the Alpbach river joins the Inn river, is Brixlegg, then down the valley is Reith Im Alpbachtal, Alpbach and Inneralpbach. Along on the south side of the Inn is Rattenberg and on the north side is Kramsach. The main road down the valley ends at Inneralpbach and so there is no through traffic.
