The village of Seefeld In Tirol lies in the Tirol (Tyrol) region of Austria and is south of the Germany town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and only a few km north west of Innsbruck. The main road (177) passes to the east of the village.
There are a number of villages that together with Seefeld are in the “Olympia Region Seefeld”, Leutasch, Mösern / Buchen, Reith, Scharnitz.
Seefeld is a member of “Best of the Alps - The Classic Mountain Resorts”.
Walking / Hiking in the Seefeld Area
High walks in the Reither Spitze (2373m) area to the east of Seefeld are good as well as more moderate walks to the south to Gschwandtkopf. The village of Leutasch north of Seefeld is a good starting point for walks in the Wetterstein mountain range just south of the border with Germany.
The Tourist Office may offer free led walks .
Skiing in the Seefeld Area
Downhill skiing is available in the Reither Spitze (2373m) area, the Gschwandtkopf area and the Leutasch area.
There are lots of cross country tracks in the area.
